African Shield Cushion – Madder

How we make it

This double sided cushion cover is handwoven natural 2 x 2 organic “Kala” cotton with hand block printed Madder and black African Shield motif.
The cotton grows in the desert area of Kutch, Gujarat as it has for centuries.
It is naturally pest resistant and needs almost no water to grow.

The tassels are all made by hand.

Once the cloth is woven it is sent to us in our studio on the south coast of Sri Lanka
where our master tailor turns it into this beautiful cushion cover.

Good design never dates.

• Cushion cover closes with a top quality YKK invisible zip.
• We make the covers slightly smaller than the inners they’re made for, as we like a snug fit.

Fabric Care

• Natural dyes can fade in direct sunlight
• Hand wash with mild detergent in cool water or dry clean.
• Line dry, do not tumble.
